Hole-in-one nets player $10,000

The Nova Scotia Salmon Association wasn't the only big winner at its recent charity golf event held at the Sherwood Golf & Country Club in September. In addition to the $34,000 raised to support the association's West River-Sheet Harbour liming project, one tournament participant also walked away with a cool $10,000 after managing to hit a hole-in-one on a designated prize hole.

100 Men Open South Shore Chapter

June 3, 2014. The sound of pens scratching in chequebooks on May 29 ushered in what three local men hope is a new way of "giving back" to the community. Tim Harris, Johnathan Lewis and Mark Winfield, three businessmen and philanthropists from the South Shore, met at the first meeting of the Halifax branch of 100 Men Who Give a Damn in February.
